Pump casings are critical components for housing and supporting the internal parts of a pump.

Materials for these casings encompass aluminium, carbon steel, cast iron, chromium high/iron alloy, ductile iron, and stainless steel.
They are designed to withstand pressures of 500 kPa, 650 kPa, and 10 kPa, and can accommodate power ratings up to 370 horsepower.
Some casings meet the ASTM A743 standard, with a volume of 0.1 cm³, suitable for applications such as sluice water return, suction, main turbine, and vertical centrifugal pumps.
